Syrup VS. Tablets

Question: Why is Aptus Apto-Flex joint supplement only available in Liquid Form?

Answer:
Many Aptus customers are surprised how quickly they can see results after giving their dog daily doses of Aptus Apto-Flex joint care syrup.

Why does it work so quickly and effectively?

Apto-Flex is researched and developed by Orion Pharma’s in-house veterinarians. The biggest advances of Apto-Flex is its powerful composition of ALL the essential substances needed for joint health, and the liquid form (syrup).
The biggest difference between tablets and syrup is how the ingredients break down in the digestive tract. A dog’s digestive tract is significantly shorter than human’s. This makes it so a tablet may not have enough time to absorb before it passes the dog’s body. When in syrup, active ingredients absorb fast in your dog’s system, reaching the joint where they are needed and therefore the results are fast and influential.

In addition to the usual combo of Glucosamine and Chondroitin, Apto-Flex also contains, Collagen, MSM, Hyaluronic acid and Cranberry. When combined in a liquid form, these ingredients have a powerful synergistic effect that provides optimal support for the joint.

Sport X Electrolytes & Dehydration

Question: How to hydrate a dog that is throwing up?

Answer:
Our in-house veterinarians get a lot of questions from our customers about rehydration and what to do after their dog has been sick (diarrhea or vomiting). To help your dog recover faster, the most important thing is to get your dog drinking fresh, plain water. It is also essential for a sick dog to get easily absorbable carbohydrates as well as minerals and salts to regain the normal body fluid balance. After sickness the dog is often dehydrated and needs fluids as well as Glucose, Maltrodextrin, Potassium chloride and Sodium chloride. These components will help your dog attain their natural body fluid levels. Aptus Sport X is an advanced electrolyte and energy product designed to meet the needs of a sick or recovering canine.

The Sport X rehydration pouch can be added into drinking water or mixed food.

Has there been any studies to prove the effectiveness of Electrolytes?

There are numerous studies on the effects, prevention, and treatment of heat related injury to mammals, and specifically dogs. Most of them concur that proper hydration is key and the need for electrolytes and sugars also increases as exposure to heat and/or activity increase. The ingredients in Sport X fit the standard veterinarian approved treatment and/or prevention outline for heat injury in canids as well as all mammals. Here are a few great resources suggested by one of our local vets:

Aptus was a sponsor at the British Flyball Championships August 18.-20th

“My four year old sheltie loves being active, and especially agility is truly meant for him. In the summer heat, we keep  our training sessions short with multiple resting periods. This doesn’t seem to be enough for his activity level. I decided to try Aptus Sport X, to see if it has influence. I let my dog drink plenty of regular water before our training session, and during our first break I gave him Sport X mixed with water. I noticed my dog’s recovery time halved and he had more energy to complete the course, without getting tired half way through the course.”
Mari Rimpinen, veterinarian student

“I have transferred 3 of my dogs across onto the Apto-Flex joint supplement. Milly is 8 years old and has double hip dysplasia and is bounding around like an 8 month old puppy!! She returned to Flyball in April following 9 months of intensive hydro and physiotherapy to rebuild her muscles but she would often show signs of stiffness after competing even though she was using another joint supplement. With Apto-Flex she takes it easier as we just pour it in her breakfast. The other supplement we used to use was a tablet which she used to spit out but she loves the taste of Apto-Flex. She now competes more and there are no signs of stiffness and she is throwing out some of her best times!! She still has regular hydrotherapy sessions but whereas before you could see her back legs start to tire and her swimming motion would get lazy she now powers through a full session and there is no tiring her out!!”
The British Flyball competitor Cheryl Quinn
